We consist of a highly experienced, diverse group of people with strong marine backgrounds – in Marine Insurance broking, underwriting and adjusting, shipmanagement and maritime law – and we provide support for our clients at every stage of the insurance process ensuring an efficient and thorough service.

Senior management
Peter Sandall
General Manager, Australia and New Zealand
Peter brings a wealth of experience to FP Marine Risks having worked in the marine insurance industry for over 35 years. Peter heads up the Melbourne office, which serves as a regional branch for Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands. Previously, Peter worked for 18 years as a Professional Marine Reinsurer for General Re. Prior to that, he worked as the head of the Marine Division for AIG Australasia for 10 years.
Tim Cutler
Assistant General Manager, Australia and New Zealand
Tim joined FP Marine Risks in 2008 having previously worked for Vero National Marine in both their Sydney and Brisbane offices. Tim’s marine insurance experience over the last decade includes both technical claims and underwriting roles. Tim works closely with Peter Sandall in servicing the company’s clients in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands and is involved in the development of FP Marine Risks’ web based e-commerce systems within the region.
Ian Macnaughtan
Manager, Logistics, Australia and New Zealand
Ian was the founder of EDI Cargo Cover, a specialist cargo insurance agency in Queensland, which was established in 1994 to provide e-solutions for importers, exporters, freight forwarders and custom brokers. Following FP Marine Risks’ acquisition of EDI Cargo Cover in April 2010, Ian is now responsible for managing the company’s logistics division for the region. Prior to EDI Cargo Cover, Ian held various senior management positions within leading Australian underwriters.
